Cameron Brown is a Second-Year Honors Scholar at Tulane University studying Digital Media Practices and Creative Writing with a minor in Strategy, Leadership, and Analytics as well as a minor in Cinema Studies. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and is now based out of New Orleans. His primary passion is visual storytelling, specifically in regard to LGBTQ+ and Louisiana-based stories and films. He is the President of "Green Wave Films" for the 2023 Fall Semester. Green Wave Films is a Tulane Student Organization that aims to both foster a film community at Tulane and give student filmmakers greater opportunities to express themselves creatively. He has received multiple awards for writing and student filmmaking:
-"Undergraduate Audience Award," issued by the 2023 Tulane Student Film Festival for the short documentary, "Survival Land: The Future of Louisiana's Coast." The award includes a $350 cash prize and an all-access pass to the 2023 New Orleans Film Festival.
-"The Boyette Award," a first-place undergraduate writing award issued by the Tulane University English Department for the essay, "Carcinogenic State: Louisiana's Role in the Injustices of Cancer Alley," written for "ENGL 1010" in November 2022.
